BIG u/s yesterday

I didn't get a chance to update yesterday but we had the big u/s and so far monkey looks great!
everything is in place where it should be and looking the way it should be. I have to go back for a repeat in 2wks because he was being lazy and did not want to turn onto his belly so the tech got as many measurements as she could and hopefully next time he'll be more cooperative! she confirmed with us for the 3rd time that he is definitely a HE!
and she said he is about 9-10oz in weight. holy crap all my updates say he should be 6-7, which only further confirms the tech at the 3D place saying he is big for 18 wks. I can't wait for whats in store for me come jan if he keeps this pace!
without further ado here is monkey's latest pic

Your fetus has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to you), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And, baby's finally big enough that you'll be able to feel those movements soon.
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

17 weeks & belly pic

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.
From crown to rump, your baby measures about 7 3/4 inches. He weighs about 5 ounces, but not for long, as fat is starting to fill out his body and keep him warm. By the time he's born, fat will account for two-thirds of his body weight. He has eyelashes now, although he's months away from being able to bat them.
The umbilical cord becomes stronger, thicker and longer as the weeks advance and carries blood and nutrients to the growing baby. The baby’s sense of hearing is progressing as the ears move to their final position and the internal parts are well developed by now. The baby develops adipose tissue which helps in regulating the baby’s body temperature. The baby has distinctive features now and holds up the head more erect. The body and limbs of the baby are longer than the head by now making the whole body more proportionate. The baby develops pads on the tiny fingertips and toes. The eyes are well developed now but remain firmly closed. Meconium or the excretory waste is formed which consists of a black gooey substance. If the baby is a male fetus the prostate glands start developing. The skeleton transforms from cartilage to bone and the bones remain flexible to be able to pass through the birth canal. The baby’s skin develops further but is transparent as yet. A protective cover starts developing around the baby’s skin called vernix. Brown fat deposits will start forming under the skin which will help to maintain the body temperature of the baby when the baby is born. The baby now weighs more than the placenta and loud noises can actually startle the baby.

So here i am 17weeks and somehow i thought i could still hide this bump? ha! anyway i'm super excited that we are 3 weeks away from being at the half way point. And this saturday is our first 3d u/s yay so excited can't wait!

16 weeks = avocado

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

15 weeks

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

I ordered a doppler from here and just got it, i have to tell you being able to hear that wonderful heart beat is so calming and reassuring for me, because i'm at point where i get to see the Dr. 1x a month and let me tell ya 3 weeks w/o knowing if monkey is ok is a struggle.
We rented this one but we will definitely be buying one $80 for peace of mind is nothing.
In other news, Saturday we had a photo shoot with Autumn who was teaching and need "models" she is so much fun and we had a blast not to mention her photography is out of this world! take a lookie here.
that is all for now.
